Text pending review — preliminary version.
This document is a draft under review. It accurately describes how MiseEnJeu works today, but its wording may still change.
Who we are
MiseEnJeu operates the mobile app and the miseenjeu.app website, which connect amateur hockey game organizers with referees and scorekeepers.
Person in charge of the protection of personal information: <Prénom Nom>. Contact: confidentialite@miseenjeu.com.
Information we collect
- Account: name, email address, password (stored hashed, never in plain text), roles (organizer, referee, scorekeeper), language, theme, the date you accepted the terms and the date you confirmed you are 16 or older (we do not ask for your date of birth).
- Sign in with Apple or Google: the identifier provided by that service and your email. Passkeys: only the public key is stored.
- Profile (optional): phone number and photo; for officials, experience, certification, levels, categories, skills and availability.
- Travel zone (officials): the address or postal code you enter is used to compute coordinates. We keep those coordinates and an approximate label (e.g. “Montréal, H2X”), not the address you typed. We never access your device’s location.
- Activity: games, applications, selections, withdrawals and their reason, ratings (scores and comments), reports and blocks.
- Devices and security: open sessions (device name and type, last activity) and a notification token if you allow notifications.
- Diagnostics: when an error occurs, a technical report (version, device, internal account identifier), without email, phone number or content.
- Usage analytics, only if you turn them on (off by default): key actions, screens viewed, roles, language, platform and sign-up month, linked to your account’s internal identifier. Never your name, email, phone number, address, location or the text of your comments.
Why we use it
To provide the service (post games, suggest games that match your profile, availability and zone, manage applications and selections), send you emails and notifications about your account and your games, keep the service secure (sessions, abuse prevention, moderation) and fix errors. If you consent, to measure app usage in order to improve it.
No advertising, no sale or rental of personal information, no advertising profiling.
Who can see it
- Other users: your name, photo, official profile, statistics (games, reliability) and ratings are visible to the organizers you apply to. Your phone number is visible only to the organizer of a game you’re confirmed for, and vice versa. Your starting point is never shown: only a rounded distance.
- Our service providers, bound by contract, who use the information only on our behalf:
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (Canada): hosting of servers, database and profile photos, email delivery;
- Expo, Apple and Google: delivery of notifications;
- Apple and Google: signing in with their account, if you choose to;
- Sentry: error reports, without personal content;
- OpenStreetMap (Nominatim service): converting your zone’s address or postal code into coordinates;
- PostHog: usage analytics, only if you turn them on.
Some of these providers (Sentry, PostHog, Expo, OpenStreetMap) may process information outside Quebec, including in the United States or Europe. We assess these transfers before putting them in place (privacy impact assessment, Law 25).
Retention
Your information is kept while your account is active. When you delete your account, it is deleted or anonymized immediately in the production database; encrypted backups are erased within 12 months. Technical logs, which contain no personal information, are kept for 30 days.
Ratings you received or gave remain attached to an anonymized profile (“Deleted user”) to preserve other users’ history.
Your rights
- Access and portability: export your data at any time (Profile, Settings, Privacy, Export my data), in a structured format.
- Correction: edit your profile directly in the app.
- Withdrawing consent: notifications (device and app settings) and usage analytics (Privacy), at any time.
- Deletion: in the app, on the web or with a request confirmed by email (Account deletion page). Your usage analytics are then also deleted from PostHog.
For any request or complaint: confidentialite@miseenjeu.com. We reply within 30 days. You may also contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
Security and incidents
Encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords (Argon2), session tokens stored as fingerprints, restricted and logged access to production data, encrypted backups.
If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious injury, we promptly notify the people concerned and the Commission d’accès à l’information, and we keep a register of incidents.
Minimum age
MiseEnJeu is for people 16 and older. When you sign up, you confirm that you are 16 or older; we do not ask for your date of birth and only keep the date of that confirmation.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from people under 16. The app is not designed for children and is not presented as such in the app stores.
If you believe someone under 16 is using MiseEnJeu, write to us at confidentialite@miseenjeu.com (or report it to abus@miseenjeu.com). After checking, the account is closed and its information is deleted or anonymized as for an account deletion (see Retention); the person is notified by email.
Changes
We notify you in the app of any significant change to this policy. The version you accept is recorded with your consent.
